Lyndon and Charmaine Hooper
Lyndon turned professional in 1987 with the Ottawa Intrepid of the Canadian Soccer League while playing for Wilfrid Laurier University from 1986 to 1990 where he was named second-team CIAU all-Canadian in 1986 and 1987. In 1986, he played in the National Soccer League with Toronto Blizzard. He went on to play for CSL teams the Montreal Supra, and returned to Toronto Blizzard in 1990. He is the sixth most capped player in the history of the Canadian men's national team. He also represented Canada at the inaugural 1989 FIFA Futsal World Championship.
Charmaine was one of the original six members of the Canadian women’s national team that formed in 1986. She was also the first player on the team to have 100 caps. During her 20-year career, she laced up for Canada 129 times and scored 71 goals, making her Canada’s all-time leading goal scorer (a record since surpassed by Christine Sinclair).
In Zambia, Charmaine started playing soccer at age eight with her brother Lyndon and his friends at the international school they attended. After their family moved to Ottawa in the late 1970s, Charmaine and Lyndon started playing soccer for the Nepean Hotspurs. They attended J.S. Woodsworth Secondary School in Nepean.
Nepean Hotspurs Honorary Life Members
An Honorary Life Member is any individual who has contributed greatly to the development or promotion of the Club. The Board of Directors designates an individual as an Honorary Life Member who is afforded all rights of membership, including the right to attend and speak at Members' meetings, but is not entitled to vote.

Vincent Licandro - December 2007
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club, as a coach, director, and the Club's president from 1982 to 1983.
Maria Maneiro - December 2020
From 2005 to 2016 Maria worked tirelessly as a Director at Large taking on responsibility for screening volunteer coaches, managers to ensure the Club complied with its legal and moral obligations in providing a safe environment for its members. Maria was the key organizer of the Club Annual Banquet, served as Team Manager for her daughter’s team for several years and was a key mentor for new Team Managers and Officials.
Louis Maneiro - December 2020
Louis was an active contributor to the successes of the Club for more than 15 years. Has a Club Director from 2005 to 2016 and again in 2020. Louis coached the 2002 girls competitive team to much success and coached the Boys 2004 OPDL team. Louis supported the Club with his insights and wealth of soccer knowledge and gave of his time to ensure Club activities were successful.
Boris Bajagic - December 2021
Boris was Technical Director of the Club for more than 20 years. The contribution Boris made to the development of the Club and the players entrusted to it was immeasurable. From his first contact with the Club as a parent and throughout his years as a team head coach and ultimately as Club Head Coach and Technical Director he always supported the Club. His insights and wealth of soccer knowledge as the first "National A" coach in Ottawa provided the Club with the technical foundation to develop some of the best players and coaches in the National Capital Region.
Rocco Barresi - January 2024
Rocco is a long-standing member of the Nepean Hotspurs SC. In his time with the Club Rocco gave of his talents, time and resources to support competitive youth and adult teams, club events, leagues and much more to bring success to the Club. He has held the roles of Club Vice President, Club Director- Girls Competitive, Club Discipline Chair, Coach - Top Gun, and Volunteer. From 2012-2023 Rocco was the Recreational Program Coordinator for the Let the Kids Play, and Indoor Development Programs. His dedication in this role to the programs and compassion for the players and their parents has been un-paralelled.
Year over year Rocco played a vital role in the recruitment and mentoring of our program coaches. In 2023 the Club established the “Rocco Barresi Recreational Coach of the Year Award” named in his honour which is presented annually to a coach in the Hotspurs Recreational programs, who is recognized for his or her coaching activities, sportsmanship, investment in player development, personal coaching development, and citizenship.
