Greetings Hotspurs.

There has been a certain amount of confusion and concern around what the new restrictions enacted by the Provincial Government mean for HOTSPURS soccer moving forward. The restrictions were enacted by the province to curb inappropriate socializing which was driving the increasing case counts across the province.

In particular they were not targeted at youth sports, at this time there has been no change to public health guidelines for youth sports.

The club will therefore continue to conduct its activities in accordance with the Ontario Soccer Association stage 2 protocols, which includes drills and scrimmages that allow players to come into close proximity. At this time there are no changes to the current Ontario Soccer protocols as per the release at the following link.

Ontario Soccer is monitoring the situation and will adjust direction as necessary moving forward. Additionally, the City of Ottawa has not placed any further restrictions as of yet on youth sports.

We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops. In all cases we trust Hotspurs families to take precautions in accordance with their level of comfort, while as minimum conforming to current published public health guidelines, thereby protecting us all.

Yours in Soccer,

Bryan Cook
